DIN Rail Mount Blanking Plate Cover mounted blanks are provided with each consumer unit to fill unused ways as follows: 2 x 1 way for 8 and 12 way consumer units, and 2 x 2 way for 16 and 21 way consumer units. If additional unused ways are required, the DIN rail mount blank 5544s must be used to complete the installation. For each Switch Disconnector or RCD to be used allow 2 modular ways. Step 2 Determine the number of outgoing circuits required. e.g Cooker, Lighting, Ring Main etc. For each circuit to be protected by an MCB or RCBO allow 1 modular way. Step 3 Determine what control products are required. e.g Bell Transformer, Time Delay Switch, contactors, timeswitches etc. Step 4 Determine the number of ’spare’ modular ways required for future upgrades. For each ’spare’ modular way select 1 Sentry blank module Step 5 Now add together the total number of modular ways required. Step 6 Choose the type and size most appropriate for your requirements.
